Zion National Park!!

The trip to Zion National Park in Utah was an unforgettable adventure. We spent the weekend there. Our hotel, in Springdale was very close to the park. Because it was Summer, we used the shuttle from the city. It is free. The park has many trails. A very famous is Angels Landing, which is a long uphill trail. We did not complete the trail because we thought it was becoming too dangerous for the kids.

The Narrows was the other incredible trail we made in Zion. We hiked in the Virgin river in a cold water. It was not bad because it was a hot Summer day. I recommend to rent special shoes to prevent slips.

Tips for a perfect trip!!

I would like to suggest general tips to help you to plan a trip to a National Park.

  1.  Search the best season to visit the park of choice. Some parks close or have a very little activity at the Winter.
  2. Reserve you hotel very in advance. The prices go very high close to the dates and specially in holidays and Summer vacation.
  3. Check the website of the park of choice and get specific information.
  4. If you do not know each one to start, go to National Park website. It has a list with them.
  5. Buy appropriate shoes for hiking.
  6. Use comfortable clothes, hat, and sunscreen.
  7. Drink plenty of water, and bring snacks such as dry fruits, nuts, jerky (I do not like it , but my husband does). Use a backpack for carrying them.

Introduction!!

My name is Daisy Couto Jones Anicio. This blog was created for the Introduction to Computers Course at Lone Star College System - CyFair. I intend with my blog to share the amazing and extraordinary experience in traveling to National Parks. We are a Brazilian family, which lives in Katy, Texas. We love spending days exploring trails, mountains, forests, and different landscapes. I really like to present my children to nature, preservation, and outdoor sports. One of our favorites was a trip to Zion in Utah. It was an adventurous trip, and we hiked in the river. It was completely new for us. I hope you enjoy the posts and feel free to add on comments your experience as well.
